That filth in the White House has supported the constitutional amendement redefining marriage. There can be no excuse for this.

Speaking as a Canadian, and therefore perhaps biased by the education regarding political systems which has been forced on me, I honestly believe that the USA political system is a major problem.

Specifically, the idea of one man with supreme veto power (I think - I know the President definitely has a helluva lot of power), and the whole two-party system thing. It alway reminds me of the Hallowe'en Simpsons episode where the candidates were taken over by two evil aliens, and as everyone slaves under Kang, Homer says 'don't blame me, I voted for Kodos!'. There often seems to be no good choice, and then what can the voters do? When I'm not happy with either choice, I vote, but ruin my ballot to express displeasure, but that probably doesn't do anything (shows that I'm not apathetic, at least).

I would hope that a lot of the younger voters in the States turn out to vote in the next election. From what I can see, a lot of them feel very strongly about this particular issue (on both sides, yes, but very strongly nonetheless), and this is one of the ways they can change something. Apathy drives me nuts. Way I see it, if I could have voted and didn't, I would have no right to complain about the results.
