There's something really pathetic about my internet friends giving more of a damn about my birthday than my own fucking flesh and blood family. I got one card, and that was from Ranada's Aunt Patty who I don't even like. But hey, she sent a card and twenty bucks so I'm not going to complain.

I'm going to go back to bed now. Feh.

That's nothing. Precisely ONE of my family members *other* than my kid brother's mum gave a shit when my kid brother suffered a really horrible bout of appendicitis and THEN had to go BACK into hospital due to infection... he's like 15 at the time and on morphine, and my mum and my gran visited, and that was IT. Grrrr.

Ahh *HUGS* I know how ya feel.

I never get to celebrate mine, my family ignores it, and the friends who would share it with me are all too far away. (same with Christmas really). Sometimes my Mom will send a card. but that's it.

I'd hate birthdays..... accept I can't help but keep holding out hope that the next one will be better.

I'm lucky to get cards and haven't had any type of gift from my family for ages. Oh well. Some of them are on low budgets and really a call is fine - a hug is a bonus.
